On Earth Day 2022, UHS proudly announced their Green Plan, a response to the challenge of the NHS becoming the world’s first health service to reach carbon net zero.
The Green Plan sets out the scale of the challenge, and a commitment to reducing the impact on the environment and the steps to get there.
As the largest employer in Southampton, UHS recognises the influence it has on impacting the environment. The aim is to achieve carbon net zero, resulting in healthier lives for the community and people.
